By a Notice dated 23 March 2020, the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania instituted additional measures with a goal of limiting the spread of coronavirus.

These measures include:

  • All individuals currently residing in the United Republic of Tanzania are strongly advised to postpone all non-essential travel to other countries due to regional and global impact of the COVID-19. This is effective immediately, until further notice.
  • All travellers whether foreigners or returning residents entering the United Republic of Tanzania will be subjected to Mandatory Isolation for fourteen (14) days at their own cost at designated facilities identified by the Government.
  • Trucks/vehicles carrying Goods and Services, have only 2-3 crew Members per vehicle to facilitate smooth border crossing in the region. And there are other measures for transport companies / activities.
